How to make most out your gazebo project

Last few week we were bombarded with questions related to the gazebo projects. Personally I like the idea of having a nice drink under a beautiful gazebo with a couple of best friends.

Gazebo is usually a relatively small covered area (3000 X 3000 mm or 3000 X 4000 mm etc.) that is build on the backyard, next to a pool or barbecue area. Often it has got a timber frame or timber look frame. The roof can be Gable or Hip, sometimes Hexagonal or Octagonal.

In any case the idea is to make it looking nice and lasting long and having as little maintenance as possible.

From this perspective we can highly recommend Metal Tile Roofing for this kind of projects.

The Metal Tile roofing sheets are light in weight, strong and weather resistant. They are made of 0.42-0.45 mm high quality long run roofing steel and get installed with regular screws.

The Steel Roof tiles are zinc coated and polyester coated on top of the paint for the long lasting life.

Some gazebos are supplied with hay roof. They usually look nice when they are new but soon you realize that the herbal roof looses the bits everywhere including your pool and in few months the roof will look old and bold.

Unlike the hay roof the Metal tiles do not disintegrate in the first year and are low maintenance.

But most importantly the Tin Tiles look like Terracotta Tiles when installed. That makes the whole project looking great and adding value to your place.

One more benefit of metal tile roof is that it is suitable for DIY projects and you can do it yourself to save few dollars on installation.

Carport with a Storage

Roof Trusses set at 1200 mm
Wouldn't it b nice to have a carport and a storage room under the roof? I am sure there are lots of things that you can put in that under roof area. I know, I've got a lot.
It is possible! Some carports have got this option. You can create a storage area under the roof if your carport has got roof trusses instead of rafters or c-sections. However not every design allows you to do so, only those who have the roof trusses set close enough to put the ceiling in. To do so you need the roof trusses to be set at 1200 - 1300 mm apart. Then you can install the ceiling, closing the framework and turning the roof cavity into the storage.

Those carports will allow you to have a car garage as well as a roof storage and match the tiled roof with metal tiles on your carport.

How To Build a Perfect Carport

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream HouseBuilding a perfect Carport is not easy. It takes a lot of time and research. Typically the carport is at the front of your house, so it is important to make it the best part of it. In this case a cheap and dodgy looking structure just won't do.

There are a large number of carport manufactureres and dozens of designs, so the choice is not simple. You can find more information about carports types and designs at www.easytiledcarports.com.au

Carport to Make a Good Impression

Carport is a great solution for your car storage. However it is important to keep in mind that the carport is usually situated at the front of your property. The right carport can make a fantastic impression and improve the property value. In the same time a carport that looks cheap or dodgy can devalued the house.

I have been in the carport industry for many years and from my experience I would like to point on few important things when deciding about your new carport project.

First think of a shape. Look at the house and describe it. Does it have "gable" elements (gable is a two side roof) or does it look like "hips" (hip is a four side roof looking more like a pyramid).

If the house has gables you might want to consider your carport as a gable one.

If the house has got a hip roof, you might want to go with a hip carport.

On this picture on the right the carport has got a Dutch Gable roof (a combination of a gable and a hip roof). Typically it is commended for a house with a Dutch gable elements.

What is the pitch of the house roof? We always recommend to build a carport with a slightly smaller pitch, so it does not dominate the building. For example if the house roof is 22.5 degrees, you might want to use a 15 degree pitch for your carport. If your house has got a 35 degree roof, you might consider a 20 or even 25 degree carport roof.
